Cloud computing

Towards optimized, secure data management in the cloud

The professional course on Cloud Computing focuses on preparing students to work in the field of cloud computing. Cloud computing refers to the use of IT services and resources, such as servers, databases, storage systems, software, etc., hosted on the Internet (the ‘cloud’) rather than on local servers or physical infrastructures. This course aims to develop the skills needed to design, manage, secure, and optimise cloud services and infrastructures.
Key modules of the Cloud Computing training course include:
  • Cloud basics

Students learn the fundamentals of cloud computing, including the different service models (Infrastructure as a Service - IaaS, Platform as a Service - PaaS, and Software as a Service - SaaS) and deployment models (public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud, community cloud).

  • Cloud infrastructure management

The course covers cloud resource management, virtual server configuration, networking, storage, and cloud-based resource management.

  • Cloud security

IT security skills specific to the cloud environment are taught, including identity and access management, sensitive data protection, threat prevention and compliance with security regulations.

  • Cloud services

Students learn how to use and manage common cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and other cloud service providers.

  • Migration to the cloud

Training includes skills in migrating applications and data to the cloud, while factoring best practices and associated costs.

  • Automation and orchestration

Skills in automating and orchestrating tasks, and cloud resources are taught to optimise operations, and reduce manual intervention.

  • Cost management

Students learn how to manage the costs associated with using cloud services by monitoring expenditure and optimising resources.

  • Cloud-native application development

This course includes skills in developing applications designed specifically for cloud environments.

  • Cloud certifications

This cloud training programme prepares students to pass industry-recognised cloud certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.

Upon graduation, students can find employment opportunities as cloud administrators, cloud engineers, cloud architects, cloud security specialists, cloud data analysts, or in similar roles. They may work for technology companies, IT services companies, businesses of all sizes in a variety of sectors, cloud service providers themselves, and other organisations that use or provide cloud services. Cloud computing has become a key area in today’s technology landscape due to its flexibility, scalability, and efficiency. This course sets professionals up to succeed in the ever-evolving field of cloud computing.
