Computer Network Maintenance
Performance optimization and troubleshooting for efficient network management.
-
Installation and configuration
Students learn how to install, configure, and roll out network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, servers, and other components to set up computer networks.
-
Troubleshooting and problem solving
Training teaches the skills needed to diagnose and resolve network problems such as connection failures, security issues, performance problems and hardware errors.
-
Network management
Here students learn how to manage computer networks, monitor network traffic, optimise performance, manage users, and access, and conduct preventive maintenance tasks.
-
Network security
Network security is a critical component of this course. IT security skills, including firewalling, vulnerability management, intrusion prevention, and data protection, are taught.
-
Systems administration
This programme also includes skills in administering operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux or other systems used in networks.
-
Virtualisation
Students here are trained in server virtualisation and virtual machine management to optimise the use of hardware resources.
-
Certification
At the end of the training program, we encourage students to prepare for and take up network certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), or other industry-recognised certifications.
-
Network planning and design
The course covers network planning, and design, including drawing up network plans, managing IP addresses, configuring sub-networks, and planning redundancy.
-
Documentation and project management
Skills in network documentation and project management for implementing or upgrading networks are also taught.
